Above the bookstand and the Scripture passage inscribed upon the wall, which itself is very important – Jeremiah 3:15, which is quoted for the Feast of the Holy Innocents', we find a beautiful icon of three cherubs, who seem to be watching over the entire action of the Holy Innocents' Chapel.
This icon was a gift of one of our staff members, if is 18th century and from France. It was literally cut from the wall and now hangs in the wall. Below on the bookstand is the Book of Life, in which all are welcome to inscribe any children who have died too soon, whether due to abortion, miscarriage or any type of death. We know that the Lord in His infinite mercy now holds these dear souls in His loving arms and that the angels in heaven behold them and that they join with the Cherubim in singing the thrice holy hymn to the Triune God.
